Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm structure fire near Firebird Raceway just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon in the area of West Chapparal Road and Spangler Place.
A witness, Ross Parton told 6 On Your Side he and his friend, Jim Zamzow, were the first on scene and alerted the homeowner to the fire and assisted getting him and his three dogs out of the house safely.
