A barn in Meridian is a complete loss, after an overnight fire on Bott Lane. Fire officials say the blaze sparked shortly after midnight. The fire was about 45% involved when firefighters first arrived, and quickly spread to the entire barn. Officials say the homeowners stored farming equipment, hay and a boat inside.
The homeowners called in the fire after their neighbor, Cameron Marsh, spotted the flames from his roof and woke them up.
"I was getting ready to go to sleep, looked around and saw orange coming up, thinking they had a nice family fire going," Marsh said. "Looked around a bit more and their barn was on fire, so I just got my parents up as fast as we could and rushed over here and woke them up! They were sound asleep, so glad we got here in time."
Crews from Boise and Meridian fire departments worked the scene, officials say there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
