If you had work off for Presidents Day and headed up to Bogus Basin, you would have found great weather, fresh snow and little to no lines.

"We decided to take advantage of the day off from school and from work and head up here and work on our skiing," said Eric Dirmann.

"We came in the early morning so there wasn’t a lot of people here," Amy Simpson explained.

"It's a little unusual to be this slow on a Monday of Presidents Day, but I think the weather scared some people away yesterday but it's terrific," said Brad Wilson, general manager of Bogus Basin.

With six inches of fresh snow on the mountain Sunday, Bogus Basin officials are hoping locals will be motivated to pick up a discounted season pass which went on sale today.

"Sometimes you do cool flips and you don't even know you are going to do them," said two excited skiers.

"There is some really slushy parts but this is a really great season. Last year it was really bad but this year, going backside to front, it's really good," said Simpson

Many people have said that this is the best ski season they've seen in years.

Officials at Bogus said they are excited because climate scientists are predicting a potential La Nina next year.

"La Nina typically delivers the greatest snow fall of any of the different weather phenomenon," said Wilson.

Whether it was the fresh snow, short lines, or warmer temperatures that brought people out, many said they were just happy to spend their day with their loved ones.

"I just like spending time with my son, and we enjoy spending time together, and were going to work on our jumps today, right Evan?" Said Dirmann

"Doing it with my dad, and with my friends and family," said Simpson.

The season pass deal continues throughout the week. For more information about it, click here.
