Neighbors worried after string of fires

Posted
A string of fires in a Caldwell trailer park is leaving residents on edge.

Many now scared the fires aren't accidental, and worried they could be next.

A trailer that caught fire last night in the Towns Village Park in Caldwell is total loss, and residents say that makes this the fourth of fifth trailer fire this past year alone.

Residents say while one or two of the fires could have been accidental, this one seems especially strange.

Neighbors say the owner of the trailer hadn't been home in months, and his trailer wasn't even plugged in to a power source.

One resident said he's now given a key to his neighbor just in case something like this happens to his home while he's gone.

"I'm gone most of the day on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so I'm not home. If anything happens she has the key to go in and move my dogs out. I don't know what's inside an arsonists mind, but he has to be a psycho to do something like that, especially to all of these homes around here," said Bill Hagler.

The official cause of the fire has not yet been released.

Residents say they are keeping their eyes and ears open hoping to find whoever may be responsible.
