A late-night domestic disturbance call led up to a police-involved shooting that sent one man to the hospital Sunday.
Caldwell Police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance on Canyon Hill. When the first officer arrived, police say a man in a car tried to run him over. The officer shot at the man as he continued out of the driveway, hitting a second police car on the way out. Neither officer was hurt.
As it turns out, the officer's initial bullet hit the man. Police performed first aid on the 40-year-old suspect before an ambulance took him to a Boise hospital.
Officials say he has non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
The Canyon Country Critical Task Force and Nampa Police are investigating the shooting. Both officers involved are on paid administrative leave.
