The West Ada School District Board of Trustees has a new member.
At Tuesday's special meeting Philip Neuhoff was selected as the new Zone 4 Trustee. He fills the spot left vacant by the resignation of Julie Madsen.
Neuhoff has two children who attend school in the West Ada School District and is a retired educator who taught geology and previously worked at the University of Florida.
He was one of five people who applied for the position. The Board of Trustees said any of the candidates would have been a good fit for the board but in the end Neuhoff was the pick.
Neuhoff takes over the position at the next regularly scheduled board meeting which takes place March 15th.
He joins a board that has not been without controversy. Three of the current members face a recall election in May. Trustees Russ Joki, Carol Sayles and Board Chair Tina Dean say they will all stay and fight recall efforts.
