Treasure Valley residents are going to want to watch for road closures in downtown Boise this weekend as the 32nd annual Twilight Criterium hits the streets on Saturday.

Cecil D. Andrus park in front of the Capitol will be one of the best areas to watch the event live. Intermittent roadblocks for cars and pedestrians will be in place all day around the race course.

Riders will cycle at breakneck speeds down Jefferson to 6th St. and then to Bannock and back north on 9th. Racers and fans look forward to this event every year and the organizers say Boise is the perfect place for it.

"Cycling is so important to the quality of life in Boise and really throughout the Treasure Valley, and it is a big part of the Treasure Valley culture, and the Twilight Criterium, after 32 years, can take a little credit for that," said Lynn Hightower with the Downtown Boise Association.

This year, races will be broadcast live. For instructions, go to downtownboise.org
