The Vegas Golden Knights were one of the best stories in sports last year, it was their first season as an expansion team which doesn't come with high expectations, however Vegas rattled off 51 wins on their way to a Pacific Division title and made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Golden Knights are currently on a tour of the northwest and on Tuesday they stopped at Ice World in Boise to put on a camp for kids.

"Just trying to grow the game of hockey in the west here and helping these little kids fall in love with the game," said Vegas Defenseman Jon Merrill. "Just like we all did at this age when we were kids."

Merrill spent the morning practicing with Idaho youth, giving encouragement, but he also signed autographs.

"It means a lot to have the kids actually have Merrill and see him come out and play with them and helping them on the ice," said Sean Feigel, a parent. "It means the world to the kids."

Many of the kids have a new favorite team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights aren't the only team coming to Boise, the Dallas Stars will hold a training camp at Century Link Arena from September 14-16.
