Chamber helping businesses hurt by Bridge work

Posted

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce has announced the formation of the Broadway Bridge Business Collaborative, a group aimed at bringing together business owners and operators who are currently adversely affected by the replacement of the Broadway Bridge.

“The effort is aimed at facilitating opportunities for business owners to collaborate with their fellow owners and survive the construction period,” said Boise Metro Chamber spokeswoman Caroline Merritt.

The BBBC will provide educational opportunities on developing creative marketing techniques, hearing from owners who have survived other major construction projects, and finding new opportunities for their businesses.”

“During the group’s first meeting, members met with the Idaho Transportation Department and voiced their concerns over signage and traffic flow that was inconveniencing their customers and impeding their businesses. ITD responded and quickly made changes to alleviate their concerns. The BBBC will continue to provide opportunities for owners to collaborate with ITD to minimize construction impacts to businesses,” she added.
