Great Polar Bear Challenge benefits Make-a-Wish Idaho

BOISE, Idaho — If you are looking to keep celebrating the New Year, take a dip in the frigid waters of Lucky Peak to benefits the Make-a-Wish Idaho foundation!

The 16th annual Great Polar Bear challenge helps children in the Gem State create happy, lifelong memories. The event is free, but all participants are asked to fund-raise at least 50 dollars. Spectators are also welcome at the event. Participants who raise the 50 dollars get a t-shirt, but those who raise the most money will win prizes.

Make-A-Wish Idaho expects more than 250 people to jump in to the frigid waters, and another thousand spectators to join in on the fun.

As of 5 AM Tuesday morning, Make-a-Wish Idaho has raised 48,000 dollars, beating it's goal for this year. Registration for the event starts at 10 AM, and the actual plunge begins at 11. If you can't make it out the event but still want to donate, you can do that here.
