NNU student wins franchise in contest

Most college students graduate and wonder what’s next.

Martin Lira from Northwest Nazarene University has it all figured out.

“My goal is to retire by age 35 to 40.  This is just a milestone to getting to that target," Lira explained.

Lira has it all figured out after being awarded a Cherry Berry Frozen Yogurt franchise through a contest at NNU.

The underperforming store will be financed through Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Lira will move to a suburb of Tulsa, Oklahoma to help give the store a shot in the arm.

Lira had to come up with a business plan, work at a yogurt store and beat out two other contestants to win the store.

Now, he will be his own boss and hopefully run more franchises in the future to accomplish his retirement goal.
