Idaho Steelheads prepare for Coloardo

Posted

Just eight games remain on the regular season for the Idaho Steelheads and the team is playing strong hockey as the season winds down.  Idaho has a five point lead over Utah for first place in the west division as they welcome in the Colorado eagles Friday night.

The team has had five days off since their last match and are rested and ready to face colorado tomorrow night.  Winger Andre Morissette has had four goals and eleven points in the last 12 games and has shown to be the difference maker down the stretch for idaho.

"There's not many guys in our league that can skate like he does at 6'3 his first on a lot of pucks his the first guy back in the d-zone he works very hard." Said Bench Boss Neil Graham.

"he can out race anybody in the league he's fun to have a winger like that." Said Forward, Carson McMillan.

Playing in front of a raucous crowd has also helped idaho.  The steelys are 5-0-2 in their last seven home games, add that to the blue collar nature bring your hard hat and lunch pail to work mentality and right now you do not want to face this team.

"I would argue to find a team in the league that blocks more shots than we do on a nightly basis." Said, Graham.

"gotta stick to the system that helps us when were predictable to each other and I think that's been our success." Said Forward Andre Bouvet-Morrissette.

With the playoffs right around the corner the team is already prepping for hopefully a long run growing out their crumb dusters, or soup strainers or just plain beards.

"I know some guys that got some good muzzles so we're growing them out early." Said McMillan.

"Like you can see i don't have much we'll see what happens." Said, Morrissette.  Just remember boys a man does not grow a beard. a beard grows a man.  "Hey if that's what gets us going all do whatever it takes as well." Said, Graham.

The puck will drop between Idaho and Colorado at 7:10 Friday night at the link.  For tomorrow nights match-up over the last 12 games, the Steelheads have killed off 37 of 39 penalties and they haven't faced Colorado since January 2nd.
