Vandal Spring Ball on the horizon

The Idaho vandals will be looking for a new league to play in after the 2017 season, but it hasn't stopped them from being amped up and ready to go tomorrow for spring ball.

The Vandals will open up camp with 38 letterman returning and 23 redshirts who spent a full year in the program.  There are nine full-time starters to replace, but regardless of all the position changes Coach Petrino says his team is focusing on the task of getting better not worrying about what league they will play in or how it will affect recruiting.

"That's what spring ball is all about is competition and everybody getting reps.  You know in recruiting in most things at our level you’re really just recruiting one year out so right now we're just going about our business to be the best we can be and get better every single day, and control what we can control and be the best we can be that's how we handled it to be honest." Said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.

The Vandals will also be without their signal caller.  Coach Petrino confirmed that Matt Linehan, the returning starter at quarterback, will miss the entirety of spring ball because of a football injury, and jake luton will be getting a bulk of the work load.

"He will not practice this spring because his in a boot right now so this spring. it will be Jake will get a ton of reps." Said Petrino.
