Vandals put on pads for Spring Ball

Posted

The Idaho Vandals are in the thick of things for Spring Football, as the team wore pads for the first time yesterday.

The Vandals will have their first scrimmage on the 1st of April in Lewiston.  Idaho will be looking for a new league to play in after the 2017 season, but that hasn’t stopped them from grinding and building off of last years 4-8 mark.

Idaho showed signs of turning the corner last season and it looked as if they were going to be playing in a bowl game and then the team lost three of their last four games of the year.  There are still some road blocks but so far Coach Petrino is impressed.

“You don’t have a whole new 18 new guys for the first practice of spring ball.  They all have been around our system.  We are just excited about this season I'm really excited I think we showed great improvement last year.  The most important thing that excites me is the guys in that locker room believe it they got a chance to be good this year and they know we're going to be good this year and that's where it all starts." Said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.
