Vandals work thru spring practice

Posted

The Idaho Vandals working thru spring football, as the team looks to rebound after last seasons record of 4-8.

The team will have 15 spring practices with their first scrimmage next month in Lewiston.  Idaho hit the Kibbie Dome for spring drills with Jake Luton taking most of the quarterback snaps.

Matt Linehan who is the team's starting quarterback who is nursing a leg injury will be out of all spring practices with the injury.

Coach Petrino says with Linehan being out it's a perfect time for him to be a student of the game.

“I told him today you’re going to a be a coach anyway you might as well start practice at being one now.  Start looking at the game that way there’s not a coach alive that after your two years of coaching you didn’t wish you could go back and play, cause you know it’s so much better.  You learn it so much better after trying to teach it.  So this spring look at it as a coach go about it that way and it will make you learn the game so much better.” Said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.
