NAMPA, Idaho — Our veterans, active-duty military, and first responders sacrifice a lot for our country, and as a result, they often endure great hardships both physically and mentally.
But Elevate Mind Body in Nampa is using a holistic approach to help them recover.
“I am a U.S. Army combat veteran. I served six years active duty, and I did two deployments to Iraq and one to Hurricane Katrina,” said Andrew Collins, a veteran, and Elevate's Veterans and First Responders program ambassador.
He was looking for a way to recover both physically and mentally from his deployment when he found Elevate.
“He began utilizing our Pods as part of his therapy, and through the utilization of our Pods, he was actually able to come off five separate medications that he was taking through the VA because he had such bad PTSD,” said Brook Taylor, Elevate Mind Body owner.
Because of Collins's success and Taylor's desire to help our veterans and first responders, Elevate created the Freedom Package.
The package is designed to help veterans and first responders mitigate pain and treat PTSD.
“The big thing about the sensory deprivation and the help with the PTSD is that it cuts out all the noise and gives people the opportunity to confront uncomfortable things or situations or truly meditate," said Taylor. "Which tends to help people get past or cope with or deal with PTSD.”
Their services use water, light, and salt.
"It's all meant to get the body back to its natural state of wellness," said Taylor.
Elevate offers many different options to suit your specific needs.
“Those services rotate between a cocoon, a massage, a red light, and pain light, and they rotate every month,” said Collins.
On the 11th of each month, all services are free for veterans, first responders, and active-duty military.
“We realized that we needed to be doing more. We needed to be doing our part to make sure that we were caring for the people that care for us,” said Taylor.
“It’s for you, and it’s a way to say thank you for what you do and what you have done," said Collins.
