FINDING HOPE: Crush the Curve working to improve access to mental health services

Posted

BOISE, Idaho — Crush the Curve Idaho is expanding its reach. After successfully becoming one of the first organizations to make finding a COVID-19 vaccine easier, the group is now working to help people access mental health services.

Those at Crush the Curve are utilizing what they learned during the pandemic and applying it to mental health resources.

"We're really applying a lot of what we learned in those same contexts to make the information accessible and help remove any barriers to people getting care," Crush the Curve executive director Tina Upson said.

The Crush the Curve website now has a clearinghouse of local mental health resources.

Not only does the site tell you what's available to help immediately, but what to expect when you get there.

"Our intent and hope with that would be that individuals would recognize how important their single life is," said Upson. "And wherever they're at, they matter and there is hope for them."

Crush the Curve's new mission is also designed to show Idaho's elected officials just how far behind the state is when it comes to mental health resources so changes can be made.
