CALDWELL, Idaho — Some time outside can do wonders for your mental health. That's the idea behind Saturday's "Hooked on Mental Health" event, which aims to introduce Idahoans of all ages to the joy of fishing.

"This is a healthy hobby that, oh my gosh, you can do pretty much anywhere all over Idaho, so I'm hoping that people will learn to fish, learn a new way to cope with thier mental health, and get out and active," said Patrick Fithen, CEO of Body and Mind Health Services.

The all-ages event kicks off on October 10 at 8 a.m. at Rotary Pond in Caldwell. Idaho Fish and Game will be offering fishing permits for free.
