BOISE, ID — Local experts gathered at Boise State University this weekend for a student conference on opioid education.
The presentations highlighted the evolution of the opioid epidemic in America, along with information about alternative pain management options and available treatment options.
"They should come away with a really comprehensive understanding of the problem in Idaho, we had some sessions on that yesterday. And then also how it's being approached from different healthcare disciplines," Idaho Area Health Education Center Director Katrina Hoff said.
More than 200 medical, nursing, pharmacy, social work and physical therapy students from several Idaho universities and colleges, along with dozens of educators and health professionals attended the two-day event.
