MERIDIAN, Idaho — A 17-year-old Meridian boy is dead after a vehicle struck him on Eagle Road Tuesday evening.
Investigators say Masen Burmester was riding a nonelectric scooter just before 5:00 p.m. and was in the crosswalk at Eagle Rd. and Easy Jet Dr. when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, but was pronounced deceased shortly after. A spokesperson for the West Ada School District confirms he was a senior at Mountain View High, and counseling teams will be on site Wednesday.
The crash is still under investigation, and police say the driver is cooperating with authorities.
The driver has not been charged with a crime at this time.
