BOISE, ID — The Ada County Highway District has introduced a new website and app that allows users to find people to carpool with.
"You just get matched with people. It could be people that you know, people that you don't know, people that you work with, or people nearby, so you end up sharing the ride or arranging some transportation where you take a car off the road," said Christina Torkelson, outreach specialist, ACHD.
ACHD officials they want to promote the app for events like Treefort, Boise State football games, and rides to Bogus Basin.
"It's something that we've wanted to do for a long time to help our business community as well as the commuters as the Treasure Valley grows and the traffic just gets crazier and crazier every day, we're trying to encourage people to share a ride or use public transit or van-pooling, things to lessen the burden on the roads."
