BOGUS BASIN — Skiers and snowboarders in Boise are spending their weekend at Bogus Basin, leading the mountain to urge people to wait until later in the day before heading up to the top.

Both Saturday and Sunday, parking lots at the mountain recreation area filled up by mid-morning, leaving hopeful skiers and snowboarders with nowhere to park.

Both days, Bogus Basin put a pause on selling lift tickets at their downtown office while they waited for parking spots to open up.

“Snow is the most important thing we can offer our guests, so we’re thrilled. This is the tip of the iceberg in terms of this winter system coming in, so our fingers are crossed that we’ll get a lot of snow in the coming days,” said Susan Saad, Bogus Basin Director of Community and Customer Relations.

Anyone heading up to the mountain this week should be prepared for slick driving conditions, plenty of fresh snow and a lot of people.

Night skiing operations are running until 10:00 p.m. daily.
