BOISE, ID — The Boise Fire Department responded to a grass fire at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday evening.
The fire burned about 5 acres and came close to the park's playground, but no structures were damaged, according to Boise Fire.
The fire was extinguished by 8 p.m. and crews remained on scene mopping up the area to ensure the fire doesn't reignite.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Boise City Forestry was on scene Saturday night and Sunday morning clearing hazardous branches and trees in the burn area.
