WILDER, Idaho — Several headstones were damaged Saturday when gusty winds toppled about 18 trees at the Wilder Cemetery. On Sunday, dozens of families stopped by the cemetery to see if their loved ones' graves were affected.

"We haven't run across them, so I don't know if they're under a tree or if we're on the wrong spot, because there's no directory," said Caldwell resident Pam Sequeira.

Another Caldwell resident, Michael Freeman, was relieved to discover his daughter's headstone was okay.

"My heart sunk. I don't even know how to explain it. My emotions were just everywhere. Thankfully, my daughter's was okay, but just seeing all of this is just heartbreaking, really heartbreaking," Freeman said.

With some trees still needing to be cleared out, it's too early to tell how many graves were affected. A tree removal service is expected to come out on Monday, along with an insurance adjuster to survey the damage.
