TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The People for Pets Twin Falls Humane Society kicked off its annual Furrball fundraiser and this year, it is virtual.

The Furrball has been a tradition for around fourteen years. Due to the pandemic, this will be the shelter’s second year holding the fundraiser virtually.

"Every bit matters in the health and well-being of these animals, so if you are not able to give much, give a little bit and then we can continue to take care of these animals," said Debbie Blackwood the Director for People for Pets Twin Falls.

All donations will go directly to the animal shelter's medical care fund, to help pay for food, grooming and medical treatments.

The shelter cares for around 4,000 animals per year. The medical fund allows animals to visit the vet as needed and stay up to date with vaccinations, which cost between $2,000-$3,000 per month, according to Blackwood.

"We are really happy the people around here have supported this fundraiser... and People for Pets in general. They’ve supported us very well for a long time and we are very appreciative," said Blackwood.

The fundraiser is from Feb. 1 to March 5. Donations can be made here.
