TWIN FALLS — In-person classes are at a standstill at the moment, but Rob Green Auto Group is continuing to reward students who have perfect attendance.

"It means a lot to be able to hold the event still and be able to give out the vehicle to a student. I mean perfect attendance for a school year is not easy to do, some things come up, so it means a lot to us to be able to give back to the community," Steve Justice, Regional Manager of Rob Green Auto Group, said.

Rob Green Auto Group offers a free car to students who have perfect attendance. The participating schools in the Magic Valley send them a list of students who have had perfect attendance the whole year. At the end of the year, they hold a raffle at the car dealership where they announce the winner, but this year things are a little different.

"I'm glad that we can still have this. We moved our date out due to covid, normally we would have it a little earlier in June, but we're having it a little later because it would be a big group of people we would have to get together. However, we'll make sure to still social distance and keep everybody safe while we still do that," Justice said.

The raffle will still go on even though in-person classes are not happening for the rest of the school year.

"We understand that students have a lot going on in their lives right now and so attendance shouldn't be anything that they need to worry about at least for the last quarter since schools have been closed. So basically all of our students have been attending school for the last quarter. So if the student had perfect attendance up until school's closed, they would still have perfect attendance and would be eligible for prizes and great things like what Rob's doing with their car giveaway," Eva Craner, Director of Public Relations for The Twin Falls School district, said.

This year will be the 18th year in a row that Rob Green Auto Group has hosted this raffle to reward students with perfect attendance. They say they do it to encourage students throughout the year.

"Education is important to us and commitment to the students to finish and be at school, and they understanding that they have that if you put that commitment in there's something you get at the end of it," Justice said.

For students, having the opportunity to win a car at the end of the school year keeps them motivated.

"As a school district, we appreciate businesses like Rob Green that provide prizes and incentives to students who dedicate themselves to their education. So thank you to Rob Green," Craner said.
