The Nampa-Meridian Irrigation District will start filling their canal system on Monday morning. Crews have been busy this week making sure everything is in working order. They are expecting a good irrigation season for water users.
"What a difference February makes. Everybody has been saying that, but it's true. If you asked me in late January, I'd have given you a pretty grim prediction on my part. The reservoirs are still down a ways, but with February's abundance of the white stuff up there, we should be in good shape," said Greg Curtis, the Nampa and Meridian District water superintendent.
As for Lake Lowell, water managers say levels are at the same point they were at this time last year.
