NAMPA, Idaho — Your family is invited to head out to the Nampa Civic Center for a night of music, games, food, fun, and beer during the 12th annual Nampa Oktoberfest!

The community is able to celebrate German tradition during the annual event that features authentic live German music from the Boise Valley Edelweiss Band. The band has served the Treasure Valley for over 35 years, specializing in nostalgic Beer Garden music.

German beer will also be on tap, with distinct Oktoberfest beers like Paulaner and Hacker Pshorr available. Paulaner is a rich, malt beer while Hacker Pshorr is lighter than many American craft beer versions. Bavarian foods like brats, slaw, cheese soup, pretzels, and strudel will also be on the menu.

Oktoberfest favorites like the Brat Shot, Mug Holding Contest, Beer Stein Race, and more are all planned for the evening. You can come in your best Lederhosen, Dirndl, or other traditional German attire and bring your best beer stein as the crowd will have a chance to vote on their favorites. Kids can enjoy a bouncy house, the Kids Kazoo Parade, or a coloring contest.

Commemorative beer steins are available for $10 and will get you a discount on your beer. Tickets are $9 at the Nampa Civic Center doors. The fun starts at 6 p.m., Friday, September 27. For more information, click here.
