CALDWELL, Idaho — Starting Thursday, downtown Caldwell will once again play host to the annual Indian Creek Festival. This weekend marks the 17th year for the event.
The annual festival celebrates the daylighting of Indian Creek, a creek and park in downtown Caldwell. Over the years, it's become a way to also celebrate the community, life, and downtown area.
This year's theme is "Pure Imagination," inspired by the movie 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.' Festival goers are encouraged to incorporate the theme in contests happening throughout the weekend.
Contests include a dog parade Thursday night at the Luxe Reel Theatre, a Caldwell Fine Arts Chalk Contest on Saturday morning, and a Cardboard Kayak Race at Indian Creek Saturday afternoon. There will also be a Fireman's Breakfast, a Sock Hop, and a Bike Rodeo, hosted by the City of Caldwell Planning and Zoning Department.
The festival runs from Thursday, September 19 through Saturday, September 21. For more information, click here.
