An 18-year-old man has been arrested on 10 counts of felony child pornography charges, according to court documents.
The Canyon County Sheriff's Office say they received two cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children back in August, leading to a months-long investigation. Police say they were able to trace information from the cybertips to an IP address being used in Middleton. After more investigation, police say they discovered a phone number linked to the account.
Police say they were able to link Colton Dune Turner to the phone number and the address of the Middleton residence through social media and his driver's license. Court documents indicate a search warrant was served on Turner on November 13. Police say they took Turner's cell phone. The number of that phone matched the one linked to the account, according to police.
When police opened the phone, they say they found more than 2,000 images of child pornography. Police also say they found chat logs connected to Turner, where he indicated he had a lot of "hard to find images" to trade with other users, according to court documents. In those same chat logs, police say Turner also asked if other users wanted to "gang rape a little girl" and indicated he used his job as a lifeguard to do inappropriate things with little girls.
According to court documents, he detailed how he would molest a young child and her sister, and called for other users to "come rape a girl with me," saying his preferred age range is 4-5 years old.
In the court documents, the chat logs detailed Turner encouraging another user to kidnap a little girl by telling her that her parents wanted him to take her somewhere, and bring her to Turner who would rent a motel room.
"Grab one defenseless," Turner wrote, according to the documents. "We do whatever we want to her for as long as we want, and if she's still ok by the end when you head back you drop her two towns away from where you found her and go home."
Investigators found a black bag under Turner's bed, according to the court documents. Inside, they say they found a thick black rope, a thin black paracord rope, a roll of tape, handcuffs, a pink bandanna, a container of personal lubricant, and a container of "female sexual stimulating gel.'
Police say it is possible Turner created some of the child porn he distributed online.
One video found on Turner's phone appeared to be close to or the same photo he used on one of his accounts during a group chat, according to court documents. Police say he posted the photo with a caption detailing what he had done to the girl. Data from the photo found the video was taken in July in Depoe Bay, Oregon, according to police.
The court documents also say Turner said in the chat logs he has an 8-year-old and that he had touched her inappropriately while she was asleep. Police say Turner had taken a trip with family and friends to Depoe Bay, Oregon during that time of year. Police say there was possibly a young girl around 7 or 8-years-old with them, matching the description of the girl in the video.
A full search of his cell phone is pending, but police say it appears Turner has distributed a multitude of child pornography images with other users, and requested they trade their photos with him.
Turner is being held on a $1 million bond in the Canyon County Jail in connection with the charges.
His preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 Friday morning.
