MERIDIAN, Idaho — A Treasure Valley summer-time tradition is still going strong after 19 years.
10,000 toy dolphins flooded the "Endless River" at Roaring Springs Waterpark today to help raise $30,000 for the Boys and Girls clubs of Ada County.
Colleen Braga, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls club of Ada County, says, ""So Today is the Great Dolphin Dunk benefiting 4000 kids who attend the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. It's the one event throughout the year that we get our kids involved in fundraising because it costs us 25 dollars for an after-school membership and obviously it costs a lot more than that to for us provide services, so through this event we raise community support to provide those after-school and summer programs for kids 5 to 18. It's important to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club because all kids need a safe, fun place to go when they're parents are at work. Without the Boys & Girls Club many of our kids would not have a safe place to go."
First place and winner of four Roaring Springs season passes went to Paula Fields. Second place and winner of a $500 cash donation by Bent Nail Inspections went to Olivia McGregor. Third place and one year's worth of free Idaho Pizza plus a paddleboard went to Larry Carroll.
