NAMPA, Idaho — Hundreds turned out for the 2019 agriculture forum in Nampa. The annual event brings together the business and agriculture communities.
The main focus of the forum is how agriculture continues to impact the local economy, and how farms can survive in areas where communities are determined to grow and expand.
"Some people want more growth and development, and others want to preserve the land farms. And so we hope to bring it up as a topic of discussion and so there's balance so everybody understnads that we are going to grow and grow smart. That's the idea," said Mitch Minnette, the president of Nampa Chamber of Commerce.
The event also honored FFA students and the local farm family of the year. The forum was sponsored by the Nampa Chamber of Commerce.
