BOISE, Idaho — Two Albertsons employees have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

“We have learned that two associates -- one at our Albertsons store on North Main Street in Hailey, and one who worked at both our #3337 store on East Avalon in Kuna and at the #3366 store on E. Wyoming in Homedale -- have confirmed cases of COVID-19,” said company spokeswoman Kathy Holland.

The two are now receiving medical care and are in self-quarantine.

“Following CDC guidelines, our Crisis Response Team has spoken with team members who may have come in contact with the associates at the three stores. (The CRT) may recommend that additional members of the stores self-quarantine. These employees will be eligible to receive up to fourteen days quarantine pay,” Holland said.

“The associate at our Hailey store has not worked since March 17th and the other associate has not worked at our Kuna store since March 24th or at our Homedale store since March 25th. All stores have been through multiple cycles of our enhanced cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting process since their last days of work,” she added.

Crews conducted a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the stores with guidance from third-party sanitation experts.

Both stores will remain open and “we will continue to follow an enhanced cleaning and disinfection process in every department,” Holland pointed out.

“We have reaffirmed with all associates that they need to wash hands and disinfect check stands every hour and to practice social distancing. We have also reminded them that if they develop a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, such as a cough or shortness of breath, stay home and call their healthcare provider right away,” she added.
