NAMPA, Idaho — On May 4, Nampa Parks and Recreation will opening all park restrooms after they were closed for efforts to flatten the curve of the coronavirus. The restrooms will be open during daylight hours and cleaned twice a day.
Some organized youth activities and day camps will also reopen on May 4. Youth sports organizations will be allowed to practice at city park facilities. Games will not be allowed and there has been no decision yet about when they can be scheduled.
Sport leaders are expected to follow and enforce the “Stage 1 Protocols for Youth Activities” described in the Idaho Rebounds information. Park picnic shelters are not reservable for public functions at this time.
While playgrounds at City parks remain closed for the time being, City leadership is currently discussing the guidelines and timeline around reopening playgrounds and hopes to have an announcement soon. Other re-openings will be evaluated in stages and depend on the current health of the Nampa community.
