Authorities have now released the name of the Mountain Home Air Force Base airman who was recently found dead near Boise. 

They say First Lieutenant Curtis Berenguer, 25, was found dead southeast of Boise on Sunday Dec. 3rd. But they are not releasing any details –- saying the cause of death is still under investigation.

"This is a tragic event and our hearts go out to his family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time," said Col. Joe Kunkel, 366th Fighter Wing commander. 

Berenguer's is from Novi, Michigan. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 2014, followed by his first assignment at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas as a participant in the Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training from July 2014 to July 2016. He continued his service at Seymour Johnson AFB as part of their Formal Training Unit from October 2016 to May 2017 and arrived at Mountain Home Air Force Base in May of this year, according to a MHAFB news release.
