BOISE, Idaho — The official Float the Boise River Facebook page announced the start of float season will be on July 1. The biggest change for this year is the air stations at Barber Park will not operate as a precautionary measure to help reduce community spread of COVID-19.

The river will still be opening for launch from Barber Park, and equipment rentals, shuttle service and the snack shack will be operational throughout the summer. If you bring your own tube or other vessels to go down the river, bring your own inflation equipment. Park visitors and floaters should follow all protocols and recommendations to reduce community spread of the coronavirus.

Float the Boise River announced the opening in a Facebook post Friday evening, stating they worked with Boise community partners to ensure the safety of community members. All park visitors and floaters are advised to practice social distancing whenever possible. Float the Boise River also advises that, while the Boise River is never closed, endeavors are always float-at-your-own-risk.

Official announcements about the 2020 float season will be made on the Float the Boise River Facebook page.
