BOISE, Idaho — The historic Bishop Foote guest house is finally in it's new home after weeks of delays. The house spent several days parked in the middle of a downtown Boise street, blocking weekend traffic.
The 304-ton brick home was put into place late Sunday night, just hours ahead of the Monday morning commute. The historic home was left sitting for days in the middle of Avenue B after being moved from the original location to make room for construction of a new St. Luke's shipping and receiving building.
Crews ran into several issues along the way, including mechanical issues starting in late April.
Congratulations to the hardworking team that made this epic, complicated move happen. 304-tons of fragile brick moved safely to a new spot, and a piece of Idaho and @StLukesHealth history preserved. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 #Boise #Boiseconstruction pic.twitter.com/Q0ex7V360o
