ONTARIO, Ore. — BLM crews are fighting an estimated 750-acre wildfire on both sides of Highway 201, near the I-84 Weiser exit. It is roughly 25% contained, as of 10:00 p.m. Monday night.
High winds have complicated the effort -- fueling the fire and preventing air assistance.
A BLM spokersperson says houses were threatened, but none were lost, thanks to the help of the Weiser Rural Fire Department.
Idaho Power is working on affected power lines.
A spokesperson tells us the fire is burning in brush and grass on both on both BLM and private land.
