MERIDIAN, Idaho — When it comes to testing for the coronavirus, one local company is making a big commitment. Blue Cross Idaho is covering 100 percent of the coronavirus test kit if any member needs it.

Similar plans are in place or about to be instituted at other Idaho providers. Blue Cross says no matter what deductible or co-pay their customers have, they will get the test kit free of charge.

"Most important if you feel like you're affected and you're a blue cross of Idaho member, don't let any financial obligation stop you from getting the test," said Mike Reynoldson, Senior VP of Public Affairs, Blue Cross Idaho. "We want people to get the treatment they need."

Reynoldson said he did not have any information on how many test kits are available in Idaho. So far, there has not been a single case of COVID-19 in the Gem State.

Select Health Idaho says it will cover the test too. Pacific Source says it is working on it's policy and should have more information soon.
