The body of a 19-year-old male was recovered from the Snake River late Sunday morning after what officials are calling a "tragic drowning event".

At 10:45 a.m., the Owyhee County Sheriff’s Office and Homedale Police Department recovered the body of Adrian Monreal Rubio approximately one mile west of Homedale in the Snake River.

The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office was first called around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night regarding a boat that was taking on water during the storm on the Snake River near the Homedale boat dock.

Eight adults were on board, and all but one were rescued from the river. Search crews were unable to locate the remaining missing male until Sunday morning.

"We would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of Adrian," a press release from Owyhee County stated. "In addition, the tireless efforts of all volunteers to give peace to the family are greatly appreciated."
