BOISE, Idaho — Bogus Basin announced Wednesday it will open a terrain park for beginner to advanced freestyle skiers and snowboarders Friday, November 8. The terrain park, located next to the bottom of the Deerpoint Express chairlift terminal will be accessed by the Explorer Surface lift and has a variety of features.
Bogus Basin has operated a pre-season terrain park for the last three years but this is the earliest opening date. The snow in the terrain park is up to two feet and was made with the new snowmaking system.
“The fact that we are Idaho’s first ski area to open terrain shows what a difference that snowmaking will make at Bogus Basin,” said General Manager Brad Wilson. “We’re very excited to have a head start on winter activities on the mountain.”
Hours of operation for the Explorer Surface lift will be Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Simplot Lodge will be open with limited grab and go food and beverage items available for purchase.
Tickets to access the terrain park will be free on November 8. After that, the cost will be $15 plus tax for all ages. There is no cost for season pass holders to access the park.
If you are wanting to get a season pass, head to the downtown sales office at 2600 Bogus Basin Road. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
