BOISE, Idaho — Downtown Boise's two tallest buildings are remembering Kobe Bryant in a unique way.
The Zions Bank and the US Bank buildings are both managed by the Gardner Company. They're paying tribute to the late player with exterior lights illuminated in purple and gold--the colors of Bryant's former basketball team the L.A. Lakers.
The lights themselves aren't new, but building managers say using them to remember the legendary player felt right.
"The suddenness of this event made the engineers think about Kobe and a number of our California transplants and so, they got to work last night and created a tribute with the two buildings," David Wali, a managing partner at Gardner Company.
The company says the plans right now call for the lights to stay illuminated until after Bryant's funeral.
