Slap on your dancing shoes and get ready to grove to some vintage tunes. "Boise City Swings" is in full swing. The three-day annual festival pays tribute to the rhythm shaking toe-tapping music of the 1940's and 50's.
Dancers do workshops during the day to learn moves like the Charleston and the Lindy Hop At night it's a full blown party with live music. Organizer say swing is not just great way to dance and exercise, but to meet new people.
"I think the best part about swing dancing is that not only can you dance to the music you get a little bit of exercise, but you get to connect to another person. For 3 and half minutes you don't have to say anything," said Joel hunter of Boise City Swing.
The festival is happening at the basque center in downtown Boise. This year's theme is Sci-Fi.
