Crews break ground on new Boise Fire Department facility

Posted

The Boise Fire Department broke ground for a new fire station on June 7th, 2016.

Fire Station #4 is located off UStick Road and will be home to an engine, a ladder truck and a battalion chief.

The old station stood for 40 years before being torn down.

The new station was paid for from a bond voted by Idahoans in 2014.

The Boise Fire Department said they are excited for a new station.

"This is a lot of years of work to come to this point to finally break ground, and we're excited just to improve the service out here in west Boise. And we were able to do it with no tax increase and the voters approved that bond and we are just so appreciative to our citizens," Chief Dennis Doan from the Boise Fire Department explained.

The building is the first of five buildings set to be constructed in the coming years.
