BOISE, Idaho — The City of Boise and the Boise Fire Department are hosting a grand opening ceremony for Fire Station #9. The new station replaces the building that was originally erected in 1975.
Construction of the station started in October of 2018. It's one of four fire station projects made possible by citizen support of the public safety no-tax bond, which had a 76% approval in November 2014.
"The community will see that its a more energy efficient station, that we've built a station thats going to last this community for fifty to one hundred years, and it will serve this neighborhood and the Collister area for years to come," said Chief Dennis Doan.
The grand opening ceremony starts at noon at the station at 3101 Sycamore Drive in Boise. An open house for the public will follow from 2 to 4 p.m.
