Boise firefighters preparing for fundraiser climb

BOISE — Boise fire fighters are raising money ahead of their stair climbing challenge to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

You might have seen fire fighters at various Albertsons locations around town. Braving the cold is the least of their concern in preparation for the big climb. In March they're climbing over 1300 stairs to raise money.

It's no easy feat. They'll be climbing with all gear on, like their helmets and air pack, which weighs up to 50 pounds.

"It's hard and it's very difficult and it can be terrible climbing, but it pales in comparison to having to go through any kind of cancer treatment," said local firefighter Richard Brown.
