BOISE, Idaho — This year's Boise Flower & Garden Show is being postponed due to safety reasons. It was originally set for March 27-29.

IBL Events released the following statement on the postponement:

After careful consideration and consultation with the Boise Centre, the City of Boise, and local health departments, IBL Events is announcing the upcoming Boise Flower & Garden Show will be postponed until March 19-21 of 2021. It was scheduled to take place at Boise Centre from March 27-29 and has historically attracted 10,000 guest and over 100 vendors from all around the Northwest.

The postponement of the event is due to concerns over the coronavirus, and the potential risk that this popular springtime exhibition could pose to public health.

“Over the course of the last week we have seen a significant increase in concern from our exhibitors, speakers, and attendees,” says Nick Aldinger, co-owner of IBL Events. “Thousands of people regularly attend this event, not only locally, but regionally. “It is important we do our part to help mitigate the possibility of COVID-19 spreading within our community. We take the health and public safety of our vendors and attendees seriously, and so we have chosen to postpone the show.

“I appreciate the due diligence taken by the Boise Flower and Garden Show in considering the health of residents in our community and support the decision to postpone until next March. Boise looks forward to this event next year,” says Boise Mayor Lauren McLean.

The Boise Flower & Garden Show is in its 24th year, and is the largest horticultural event in the region. It features a traditional juried flower show, as well as over 100 exhibits, a keynote address, and live music. IBL Events also organizes a number of other events scheduled to take place in Boise in the next month, including the Idaho Baby & Tot Expo, Idaho Family Pet Expo and Experience Idaho Expo. Aldinger says all will be postponed at this time due to the perspective of public safety.
