Boise group launches campaign to engage rural voters

Talking with people whose views differ from yours can be challenging, but one group is trying to make those conversations a little easier.

Nearly 300,000 registered Idahoans are unaffiliated according to the organization United Vision for Idaho. UVI is the state's largest progressive coalition. They just launched their RIse Up campaign to encourage all registered voters to talk with one another, no matter their affiliation.

"I don't know that any of the labels fit anymore," said Executive Director Adrienne Evans. "I don't know what it is to be conservative or liberal but what I do know is at the core, we have shared values."

United Vision of Idaho is trying to talk with 136,000 Idahoans through canvassing efforts before the November election.
