Mayor Dave Bieter's vision to make Boise the most livable city in the country is gaining momentum.

It's a focused effort to strive toward sustainability in neighborhoods, through commerce and the environment.

Ahead of Saturday's Idaho Green Fest in honor of Earth Day, the city of Boise launched a website where people can learn more about livability initiatives and provide feedback: http://www.livboise.org.

City of Tree leaders also have their livability report posted online.

"We're constantly having accolades for being a great biking community, for being a great community for retirees or a great community for beer drinking, whatever it may be," says Mike Journee, communications director for the city of Boise. "So, all those things come together to create a really great, livable town."

Six On Your Side first told you about the LIV concept a few weeks back. Downtown's Central Addition District is a great example of this where geothermal energy is being used for heat and a sidewalk improvement project is in the works for Broad Street.
