BOISE, Idaho — A 53-year-old Boise man is in the Ada County Jail on one charge of felony grand theft. After a long investigation, Boise Police detectives were able to recover over $1 million in property, including gold coins and other items stolen from a family estate.

Detectives had been working on the investigation and looking for the suspect, John Neuenschwander, for six months. Neuenschwander was found on February 9 on W. Fairview Ave. and arrested, according to a news release. When he was arrested, Neuenschwander had a backpack with an estimated $300,000 in gold coins.

On February 10, detectives followed up on leads and found another $600,000 in gold coins, jewelry, artwork, guns and personal property of the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
